Alicia Vasquez is an award-winning illustrator and fine artist. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she currently lives and works in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Vasquez’s illustrations are created using color and black inks or digitally created. She is most known for her illustrations of women and portraiture, which often possess her own reflections of identity in today’s society.
Growing up, Alicia has received many awards and honors for her innate talent. From a young age she always knew that she wanted to be a professional artist. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a fine art major in Illustration in which she also received the departmental Susan Lipman scholarship. She has artwork in private corporate collections such as the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals.
Alicia Vasquez has also most recently shown work in the shaker heights public library annual arts show. In her free time, she has recently grown an interest for creating tattoo artistry.
To make a living, Alicia does a lot of freelancing that pertains to her huge passion for art. She works as an art teacher during the school months as a classroom aide for art and design classes for middle and high school students. She also works as a professional freelance graphic designer for art agencies and individual firms. During the summer months, she travels as a professional face and body artist for special events, draws caricatures and mans a face painting booth at the Akron zoo.
