Tattoo Q&A - Most commonly asked questions

Q: Where do you tattoo? Where is the studio located?

A: In April 2024, I opened White Lotus Art Gallery and Tattoo located inside of 78th street studios, an interestingly unique and fun artists studio / event space in Cleveland, Ohio.

Q: How do I book an appointment with you?

A: Please see the Booking Info page!

Q: If I come in for my appointment and see the tattoo and don't like it and decide to go elsewhere, will you refund my deposit?

A: All my deposits are nonrefundable. There are several factors as to why the deposit is not refundable. When you book the appointment you are securing a time slot and if you decide not to go through with the appointment, this also covers the loss of my time that was booked and not filled. The other reason is that before your appointment I spend time drawing /creating the piece and the deposit also contributes to that drawing work time.

Q: Can I see my design before I come in for my appointment?

A: I do not send any of my designs digitally prior to the appointment for several reasons. The main being is to protect myself as an artist and my work.  Any changes that you wish to make, we do so when you come in for your appointment. I also do not charge for the time spent making the changes. With this being said, I encourage everyone to research my work and style and really make sure that you would like to work with me as an artist.  I do not want to take your money either. I want you to be happy with the piece that you get. So if you really think I might not be a good fit or you are unsure, do more research.

Q: What got you into tattooing?

A: I started tattooing in 2020, right in the middle of Covid, I was working as a full time freelance artist, graphic designer, model, and brand ambassador at the time before and lost all of my art gigs. I wanted to start something different but still along the lines of what has been an interest of mine for awhile, and that was tattooing. I managed to find an apprenticeship at a shop in the Cleveland area and learned everything from a range of artists that worked at the shop.

Q: How did you land an apprenticeship tattooing?

A: I did a lot of research before I started even venturing out to find the apprenticeship. Since I already had experience working as a professional artist  with a degree from The Cleveland Institute of Art .  I had some general knowledge of the range of styles in tattooing and also knew to research the history and art itself before I approached the artist that I wanted to learn from.

Q: Do you offer apprenticeships at the moment?

A: I am not offering apprenticeships currently.

If tattooing  is something that you are interested in pursuing, the best advice I can give is to draw all the time (every day) and research tattoo styles and history.  Pin down what you want for yourself and what you would like to gain/achieve from your pursuit. There is a ton of information online/YouTube and such from experienced artists talking about there start and learning from those artists might also help you gain some insight into knowing whether its something you would be truly interested in.
